![]() ![]() But what you can't do is use them with other software like Photoshop Elements or Affinity Photo. This is a We-in-Wet Watercolour I've managed to produce just with Affinity's filters and tools. Photoshop from 10 years or more ago they are timeless. In the mean time have look at some of posts to see if they help at all. I plan to do a Procedural Texture 101 tutorial for absolute beginners - no maths or programming (I don't understand it myself ☺) - just tips on what I've learned so far. Through A LOT of perservence and experimenting I have discovered just how powerful the Procedural Texture in particular is and I have managed to create chalk, watercolour, oil paint, acrylic and other macros, all of which give a better result than the Photoshop artistic filters that I have relied on for decades. The latest version 1.8.3.641, released in February 2020, adding support for Photoshop smart objects in PSD files and expanded plug-in. You only have to set up a macro once and you have a one-click filter. Affinity Photo, from British software developer Serif, began as a raster graphics editor for MacOS and was first released in July 2015, followed in December, 2016 by Affinity Photo for Windows. For example, if the shape has a border created with the Shape tool in Photoshop, that shape will likely be rasterized in Affinity Photo. Some shapes may be rasterized, but many will be converted into a vector shape with a path. I know the Macros and Procedural Textures can be daunting, but you should be able to find many examples on the forum which you can either download or copy and paste. Thats because the way Affinity Photo handles Smart Objects fundamentally differs from Photoshop. If you go in through the Layer menu to New Live Filter you'll see what I mean. One of the brilliant things in Affinity is that many of the filters can be 'Live'. ![]() I totally get where you are coming from, but stick with Affinity, it looks like artistic filters will appear at some stage. ON1 Plugins also work with Photoshop, Lightroom, Corel, Apple Photos, & Capture One, or as Standalone Applications.
